Adriana Machado

Adriana Machado is a celebrated woman business leader in Latin America and an outspoken advocate in the impact economy space. She is a former CEO of GE Brazil and founder of the Briyah Institute, a Benefit Corporation (B Corp) that ignites leaders to transform organizations by applying systems thinking to business. Adriana serves on the Board of Directors of LAMF Global Ventures Corp. I, a $200MM SPAC with focus on Media, Entertainment, Sports, E-Commerce, Technology. She also serves in the advisory board of Securitas Bio and of America Solidaria US, and supports the Brain Health Project, an initiative aimed at preventing Alzheimer’s Disease by promoting brain health and slowing cognitive decline. Adriana is a strategic partner to the WMB by connecting purpose-driven companies with transformational leaders.

Adriana became the first woman President & CEO of GE Brazil in 2011. After a 2-year stint as CEO, she served as regional head of Government Affairs & Policy for GE Latin America. Prior to GE, Adriana was Director of Government Relations at Intel Brazil, Director of Strategic Affairs at the American Chamber of Commerce for Brazil and a political advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Brasília. She started her career as a research assistant at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA), and as a UNDP Consultant at the Strategic Affairs Secretariat of the Office of the President of Brazil.

Adriana graduated from Universidade de Brasilia, Brazil, with a major in Political Science. A life-long learner, she has completed an Entrepreneurship Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, MIT; a Diversity in Boards program at Instituto Brasileiro de Governança Corporativa, IBGC; and Leading in Finance from Harvard Business School. She lives in Miami, FL with her husband, two sons and two Golden Retrievers.
